Data Center and Infrastructure

Blue Gecko data center facilities are as managed, safe, and secure as you want your data to be.  All power and HVAC systems are redundant and monitored 7x24.  Access to all data centers is staffed 7x24 and monitored by on-site security personnel.

Managed Computing Resources

All managed computing resources are 100% guaranteed by Blue Gecko.  Hardware is monitored by our NOC, and if anything goes wrong we repair or replace the failing component within 2 hours.

Network Services

Blue Gecko bandwidth is provided by Internap.  Internap bandwidth provides redundant, high-speed connections to all major Internet backbones, offering unmatched reliability.  Intelligent route control technology dynamically identifies the optimal path for your data, and is backed by a 100% uptime guarantee.

DNS Management

All hosting customers receive DNS management free of charge, up to 200 domain names.  DNS is managed on geographically separate highly available clusters and is guaranteed 100% available.

Backups and Data Protection Services

Blue Gecko provides data protection services tailored to your individual needs.  We offer local, replicated, and tape based backups with off site storage and vaulting capabilities.  Of course, we provide an RMAN catalog to all Oracle customers at no additional charge.  We also have loads of strategies for getting the most out of Oracle Data Guard and MySQL replication locally or to one of our other data centers.

Storage Solutions

Blue Gecko engineers can help you design the correct storage strategy for your database and applications.  Every managed server comes with hardware-mirrored disk at a minimum.  Dedicated and shared external storage are available for flexible growth and increased performance for a variety of needs and budgets.  Best of all, you will work with our system engineering team as well as our Oracle or MySQL DBAs to design the right solution, not just the available solution.

Load Balancing

Shared or dedicated load balancing solutions are available via Linux LVM.  Blue Gecko maintains a shared LVM cluster that is guaranteed to be up and available.

Firewall and VPN

Blue Gecko uses Cisco Firewall and VPN solutions to provide a secure network perimeter and connection to your remote office locations.  Configurations are available in shared or dedicated and single or highly available.  All Cisco equipment is under 7x24 Cisco service contracts and monitored and maintained by Blue Gecko engineers to provide constant support for your network.

Monitoring and Support

In addition to equipment and network monitoring, all Blue Gecko hosting contracts include Bronze Support for operating system and database monitoring.  You can upgrade at any time to our Silver or Gold package, but you will never be left without administrative support for your servers.
